Nursing Department Coordinator, Part-time

The Nursing Department at Rockford University invites applications for the position of the Nursing Department Coordinator. This part-time (20 hours/week) position will provide administrative support to the Nursing Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. In collaboration with the Nursing Department chair,
    1. assist with budget management by processing invoices, ordering supplies, and maintaining the budget expense documentation;
    2. assist with the process of communicating with prospective students, managing nursing program applications, and admitted nursing students;
    3. assist with monitoring student compliance with clinical and program requirements;
    4. assist with preparing Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accreditation annual reports;
    5. assist with coordinating student recruitment, student orientation meetings, and advisory meetings;
    6. assist with preparation, collection, and archiving of department evidentiary accreditation documents, and clinical site agreements;
    7. participate in department committee meetings to prepare minutes for review and achival;
    8. maintain documentation of course assessment, program assessment, program enrollment, student success data, and graduate licensure data.
  2. Maintain confidential student and faculty files.
  3. Manage nursing website information updates as directed.
  4. Facilitate room reservations as requested.
  5. Assist with nursing course exam administration/proctoring as requested.
  6. Perform other duties as requested by department chair, showing a high degree of flexibility and creative problem-solving.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Higher education administrative support experience preferred
  • Nursing or healthcare experience preferred
