Nursing Clinical Instructor Adjuncts

Rockford University seeks talented nursing clinical adjunct faculty who are passionate about providing teaching and learning for the next generation of nurses. We have openings to help you advance your career for Fall 2025, and will also retain applications for those interested in beginning in subsequent semesters.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Nursing clinical adjunct faculty provide expertise in clinical instruction in the hospital or community settings with pre-licensure BSN students. Available clinical assignments may include the following nursing courses:

  • Fundamentals of Nursing
  • Pediatrics
  • Maternal Health/OB
  • Mental and Community Health
  • Adult Med/Surg

 

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, or within one year of completion of the MSN.
  • Equivalent of two (2) years full-time work in clinical practice in respective discipline.
  • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Illinois.
  • Current CPR and immunizations.

 

Preferred qualifications:

Teaching or professional development experience is preferred but not required.

Adjunct faculty are eligible after one year of employment for tuition remission at Rockford University up to six credit hours per year for themselves, their partner, and direct dependents. Compensation is $1881 for two credits; $3762 for four credits per semester.

 

Rockford University is a small, private, non-profit institution with a curriculum grounded in the liberal arts and complemented by professional and practical experience. The university campus is located in a park-like setting nestled amidst a small urban environment 75 miles northwest of Chicago.  The Rockford area supports three robust medical centers (OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Swedish American Medical Center and Javon Bea Hospital- Rockton and Riverside Campus), as well as numerous healthcare agencies and community resources. The Department of Nursing is part of the College of Science, Math and Nursing.
