Brian Staats enters his first year at Rockford, assuming the role of Offensive Line Coach / Run Game Coordinator. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels. He has taken both Mifflin High School (Columbus, Ohio) and Bedford High School (Bedford, Ohio) to Ohio High School Athletic Association playoff appearances. Also, he led Mifflin to a league championship as well as Northland High School (Columbus, Ohio) to back to back league championships for the first time in school history. His college coaching experience includes stops at the University of Cincinnati and the College of Wooster, Alderson Broaddus University, Capital University, and Thiel College.

Staats has developed players to excel both on the field and in the classroom. He coached and developed former NFL All-Pro offensive lineman Rodger Saffold III while at Bedford.

Coach Staats has two daughters, Kayla and Lauren.
