About/Bio Dr. Kristin Ravel is an Assistant Professor of Rockford University who specializes in digital and multimodal rhetoric, feminist theory, and first-year writing pedagogy. She earned her doctorate of philosophy in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), where she served as the English 101 Composition Coordinator and mentored incoming writing instructors. Additionally, she earned her LGBTQ+ and Inclusivity workshop certificate in 2018 from UWM.
Professionally, her writing has appeared in Composition Studies, Bedford Bits, and the Sweetland Digital Writing Collaborative. She is also an active member of the Handcrafted Rhetorics special interest group at the Conference on College Composition and Communication.
In addition to her work in composition and rhetoric, Dr. Ravel also enjoys reading poetry, DIY crafting, spending time with animals, and drinking good coffee.
