About/Bio Dr. Matthew Flamm is a Professor of Philosophy and member of the Languages, Philosophy, Religion, and Culture Department. His area of expertise is in Classical American Philosophy, with a particular focus on the works of George Santayana. He has taught philosophy at RU since 2004, and has journal and book chapter publications, as well as editorial/authorial contributions to multiple book anthologies. His most recent publication, The Quarrel Between Poetry and Philosophy (Routledge, 2020), was co-authored with RU colleagues John Burns, William Gahan, and Stephanie Quinn.
