About/Bio Chris Albert is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Puri School of Business at Rockford University. She has taught accounting, business, and management courses as an adjust professor for several years prior to joining Rockford University full-time.
Prior to joining the Rockford University team, Chris worked in the corporate sector. She worked her way through college as a Commercial Lending Analyst for Chase Bank. After receiving her B.S. degree in Accounting, she joined the corporate sector; going to Textron, a Fortune 500 company for approximately 15 years where she started as a Senior Financial Analyst. She traveled extensively and worked at several of their different locations while continuing to expand her knowledge as a Controller over several plants and operations. Some of the core items she was involved with included setting up Sarbanes-Oxley requirements across all operating companies, performing due diligence and managing several acquisitions and divestitures, consolidating financial statements, setting up standard costing systems, forecasting, budgeting, strategy, and implementation of several ERP systems. Her last role with Textron, before she decided to move on to private equity, was CFO for one of their joint venture companies with a German partner company.
After Textron, she pursued opportunities as a CFO for three different private equity companies, which continued to provide extensive experience in banking, cash management, inventory management, acquisitions, asset management, and strategic analysis. Chris has led a variety of teams including accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, and pricing.
Chris currently enjoys engaging and enriching the learning enhancement of students by sharing her actual experiences in the corporate world. Mentoring the next generation of accounting and business professionals through development and enhancement of curriculum allows students the opportunity to gain real world experience in the classroom which sets them up for success right out of the college setting.
