Dr. Lynn Newhart will present “From Tommy Guns to Tusks: Organized Crime and the Exotic Animal Trade” on Tuesday, April 18, at 3 p.m. in Fisher Memorial Chapel.
While most of us know that organized crime is involved in drugs, weapons, and human trafficking, few of us realize the extent to which it is involved in trafficking of exotic animals. Dr. Newhart is going to discuss this lucrative trade for organized crime groups, explaining how they are involved, why they are involved and why this type of trafficking brings in billions of dollars a year.
