In the works of Paabus and Seinfeld, moments of intimacy emerge amongst layers of tension. Both artists create balance using abstract, formal elements and explore architecture and language. The interplay of color, line, space, and texture in Max Seinfeld’s minute sculptures represents the action and emotion found in both relationships and the environment. Kristina Paabus’ drawings and prints use dramatic spaces and gestural lines to create complex environments that examine structural systems of logic. Seinfeld’s accents of color that highlight shapes and movement complement Paabus’ concentrated negative space and layering of patterns. Both artists explore spatial relationships with engaging details that instill a desire to investigate the constructs of society.
