Around campus.
Once you pass through our gates, the first thing
you’ll see will be our 1,000-seat stadium in Sam Greeley
Field.
The second? The Jane Addams
International Peace Garden. Although Jane passed away long ago,
her spirit lives on here. |

In fact, the heart of our campus is the Jane
Addams Center for Civic Engagement. This is the hub of the college’s
service network and the place to find out about scores of volunteer
and service opportunities.
Things or places you might see:
Students surfing on the lawn. Thanks to our campus-wide, high-speed
wireless network, Rockford folks can surf the Internet from just
about any place on campus – indoors and out.
Empty residence halls. Unless they’re sleeping, our students
are usually out and about. So luxury residence halls would be wasted
on them. Still, we offer all of the necessities – spacious
rooms (singles and doubles), kitchens, laundry rooms, and lounges
with big screen TVs.
A deer or raccoon? No kidding. The 130 acres of wooded rolling
hills surrounding our campus are home to not just to students but
also to wildlife. Take a nature walk!
Full plates. Our Dining Room food is great. Fresh baked breads,
homemade soups, a deli and salad bar, ethnic favorites, and of course,
desserts. (Low fat and vegetarian options are also available.) If
you’re visiting as a prospective student, lunch is on us!
